How to Calculate GST?

Exclusive GST Formula

GST = Amount × (Rate ÷ 100)

Final = Amount + GST

Example: For ₹1000 with 18% GST
GST = 1000 × (18 ÷ 100) = ₹180
Final = 1000 + 180 = ₹1180

Inclusive GST Formula

GST = Amount × (Rate ÷ (100 + Rate))

Base = Amount - GST

Example: For ₹1180 with 18% GST
GST = 1180 × (18 ÷ 118) = ₹180
Base = 1180 - 180 = ₹1000

  • ✓ Intra-state transactions
  • ✓ 50% of total GST
  • ✓ For 18% GST: 9% CGST

SGST

State Goods & Services Tax

  • ✓ Collected by state government
  • ✓ Intra-state transactions
  • ✓ 50% of total GST
  • ✓ For 18% GST: 9% SGST

IGST
